I have an LVW-5005 sn:0102-1140-0098-G2BD (015-010B).  I have the hacked 0098 version of the firmware, but I am having trouble with 16x media.  Is there a new firmware that can fix this problem?  Or is there a drive update for this machine to enable 16x media usage?

Thank you for your help!

G2BD represents the 813s drive, which can only read up to 8x media.

No firmware update can help you.

If you really *must* use 16x media, you will need a new drive. Sorry.

Thank you Sue for the e-mail!!
I attempted a flash on the 5005b and it didn't go well. - The screen, on the player, says something like "put cd in drive" - or something like that. - I have with no avail... I assume that this player is now toast. - Any ideas before I throw the player away??

As for the 5006, all went to plan and now I'm chuffed!!!!

Thanks once again! Smiley

Hello,

i own an LVW 5001B Pal Germany and search for the Update File LNEB.2180.ds1.0101.024x.

SN:0101-0243-1176-F2SC(200-0108). Anyone here from Germany, the Netherlands ... , who has this Firmware?

As you can see the the 1176 was applied, before i got that unit from my parents and now i can't go back to 1163 and the Unit will recognise a Hacked 1176 but not load it so i must have 1180 to apply the ILO Hack and maybe it will help getting rid of green Jitter in VHS copies.

Thanks in advance

Just got an LVW-5007 on ebay to replace an LVW-5005 stuck at "HELLO".

Does anyone know where I can get the firmware for the 5007?  Liteon does not seem to have them on their site anylonger.

Thanks.

I'm sorry, I can't source a copy of that firmware.

I can only suggest ringing Liteon to see if they will mail you a copy, but I suspect it will be the current (unhackable) firmware.  Sad

If you can download the current firmware direct from Liteon, you should be able to run it through the Hack program, which is downloadable through our Downloads button along the blue bar above.

However, this will probably only allow you to copy from VHS as a source. The ability to copy from digital sources such as DVD and copy-protected digital TV channels was removed by Liteon long before that model was produced.

So if VHS is your issue, give it a go. Otherwise you will need to consider software on your PC.
