Depends how fussed you are about the equipment. Existing customers can have a refurbed box for £49 plus £30 installation or a new box for £99 plus £30 inst.
So long as you are a paying subscriber (so your £15 package qualifies) you can take advantage of these deals.
Refurbed boxes may not be compatible with the new Anytime TV service, but that may not matter to you.

I should just comment on the advantage of having a larger hard drive. I have already recorded about 30 hours (a lot was Dr Who from last weekend on UKTV Drama) and instead of using 75% of the drive (40 hours is all you get on an 80 gig drive) I have only used about 30%!

Jumped onboard. Bought myself a new SkyHD box, with 300GB HDD and a QuadLNB on ebay for £173. Figured I get HDMI output and BBC HD for free, and have the option of paying for SkyHD in the future.

got the double cabling in at the weekend, and my SkyHD box and LNB arrived today. Out in the rain swapping over the LNB! Anyway, the box is brand new, latest hardware (4E3007) and very quiet.
Really impressed, going from normal Sky, I recorded Heroes and Top Gear Special on BBC HD, and they look stunning..
Result for £180. My monthly Sky sub is still £15.

Great news! It really is a nice bit if kit isn't it. I really don't get the way Sky feel they have the right to charge you for using the recording facility though. Hopefully that will be abandoned in time.
"Pay for our subscription services or we will disable the recording facility on your box" - it's really not on!

I also don't see why HD subscribers should pay a tenner a month as well

Because they DO pay it.
Sky charge it, because there are still people willing to pay it. As soon as the signup numbers start to drop, and the market of willing customers has been exhausted, then they will change things, to get the next wave of customers to buy in.

And that's when I will buy in! Hopefully by then there will be loads more HD channels
